“A Plea for Healing” interfaith prayer service

Tuesday, March 7 . 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Indy
“A Plea for Healing” was funded by a $25K grant from St. Paul’s Faith, Justice & the Arts initiative in Fall 2021.

World-renowned soprano and Grammy Award winning artist, Angela Brown, presents “A Plea for Healing.” This free community service is built around prayers offered by diverse faith, civic and arts leaders, and citizens of all ages, races, traditions and perspectives. Brown’s hope is that the gathering will transform beyond one prayer service to a rallying cry for cooperative, impactful action throughout Indianapolis.

The programming of this offering includes:

  • Invocation (call to prayer)

  • Prayer for Leadership

  • Prayer for Communities

  • Prayer for Children

  • Prayer for Protection

  • Prayer for Inclusion

  • Prayer for the Nation

  • Prayer for Peace

Music, dance, and spoken word representing a wide range of styles and traditions, enhancing the spirit of evocation and unity, are woven throughout. This prayer service gives the church another opportunity to truly lead as the ordained community conscious-giving voice to offer a collective prayer for peace, justice, restoration to our community, and acceptance of one another as children of God.
