Nursery

The nursery is open for ages 0-3 every Sunday morning.

8:35 a.m.-12:30 p.m. during the program year

9:35-11:30 a.m. Labor day-Memorial Day

The nursery staff love playing and caring for babies and toddlers. Their biggest complaint is of boredom when there are no kids. They are all highly experienced caretakers that will engage your child the entire time they are there. Read the staff bios below!

Parents that would like to utilize the nursery are asked to fill out a first time registration form. After initial registration, you are asked to sign children in and out each time.

The nursery aims to be staffed by two adults at all times. There may be times where only one nursery caretaker is available and in this case the Directory of Family Ministry steps in as needed. All nursery staff have current First Aid and CPR training certification.

The nursery is stocked with diapers, wipes and snacks. So don’t worry if you forget the diaper bag!

Meet Brenda

Hi! My name is Brenda Perry and I’m honored to serve in the nursery at St. Paul’s.

My experience includes over 15 years as a professional nanny and childcare provider, including several church nursery, baby-sitting, and pet/house-sitting positions.  I also have child-related volunteer experience as a Big Sister in the BB/BS organization and a reading tutor to 2nd graders. I absolutely adore and have a servant's heart for children!

I’m a proud first-generation college graduate with a B.S. in Business Administration and a DAR (Daughter of the American Revolution). In my spare time I enjoy listening to live music, the New Orleans Saints, art festivals, and caring for my three parrots I’ve owned for over 30 years!

Meet Elizabeth

Hi! My name is Elizabeth Zachary and I serve as a caretaker in the nursery a few Sundays/month for children 0-3 years old.

After receiving my bachelor’s degree in Public Health, I joined Americorps and devoted a year to disaster relief. I then moved to Phoenix, and later Reno, before moving back home to Indiana. Over the past decade, I have been working in the field of infant, child and maternal health focusing on areas such as child development, social services and mental health. I’m currently pursuing my master’s in Public Health and plan on continuing to serve my community once completing my degree.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, and being outside in nature.

Meet Connie

Hi! My name is Connie Young and I’ve been taking care of little kids since I was a kid! With over 30 years as a career nanny, I like to think I've just about seen it all (and loved every minute!). From bouncing babies to big-kid adventures, I’ve spent my days in daycares, as a preschool co-teacher and as a volunteer and substitute at my sons’ Montessori school.

At home, I’m mom to two teenage boys, ages 16 and 14, so life is always lively! I believe kids learn best by example, so I strive to model patience, kindness and plenty of humor. Each child is unique and I adore finding what makes them shine. Whether we’re checking out every book the library has to offer or cooking up something surprising in the kitchen, it’s all about making memories together.

The early years are full of wonder and I feel so blessed to share in each child’s journey. Come say hi — I promise there will be plenty of smiles and maybe a funny story or two!

Meet Avery

Hi, my name is Avery King and I am a Nursery Assistant at St. Paul’s. I am a senior nursing major at IUI with hopes of becoming a labor and delivery nurse and eventually a women's services nurse practitioner. I have been a medical assistant at an OBGYN office for the past two summers in my hometown of Memphis, IN. Outside of work and school, I enjoy thrifting, exercising, reading, trying new restaurants, and spending time with my friends, family, and cat named Mabel.
