Update :: School #43

Butler University has received a $749,000 Lilly Grant for Kindergarten-grade 3 literacy at School #43, the MLK Center and for pre-service Butler teachers. The grant funds will cover the hiring of a Reading Specialist at the MLK Center and will also be used to support volunteers, the School #43 library and professional development for pre-service Butler teachers and School #43 staff.

School #43 continues to focus on improving student attendance through various incentives and is working to improve proficiency in Language Arts and math by the end of the school year. They will be using very focused small group instruction during their “Success Time,” which occurs Monday -Thursday from 3-3:45 p.m.

School #43 has been approved to be an On My Way Pre-K for the district during the 2024-25 school year.
