Sunday School

·        Jesus didn’t teach us to be religious educators but to change and become like the children.

·        In Sunday School classes, we are responding to a child’s silent request: “Help me come closer to God by myself.”

·        This is not school. There are no learning benchmarks; there isn’t even one correct answer. Our primary purpose is to create a class that welcomes and loves each child exactly as they are and wonder together in the mystery of faith.

·        Children are welcome to move their bodies how they need to throughout the class.

All ages have formation classes on Sunday morning between 10:15am and 11am. Adult formation is offered in the Parish Hall. Children ages 3 through 5th grade students explore their faith through the Godly Play program.

Godly Play Mission: Making meaning through story, wonder, and play. Nurturing spiritual lives by honoring the centrality, competency, and capacity of children.

Godly Play is a Montessori approach to faith formation for children. Godly Play classes follow the same flow each meeting time. Children will gather and feast together, hear a story, wonder about the story together, then choose how they would like to respond- through playing with a story, playing at the altar, creating with craft supplies, cleaning the room, etc.

Youth Group students (6th-12th) use a variety of formation tools, including Holy Troublemakers, Visual Faith. Our focus for 6th-12th is to understand our Christian story and identity as it relates to justice and equity, while leaving plenty of room for faith exploration, questioning and contemplative practices.

·        You do not need to sign up prior to your child attending Sunday School. We would love to have more information about you here, but not required.

·        Ages 3-5 and Youth 8th-12th meet downstairs.

·        Kindergarten-7th grade classrooms are upstairs.

·        Grab a snack for your child in the hallway downstairs, bring it up to the classroom to eat with friends as everyone gathers.

·        Parents are encouraged to join Adult formation class in the Parish Hall or join other parents in the conference room or hallways to sit and chat. Feb 12th, March 19th and April 2nd, 16th and 23rd there are also New Comer classes being offered for adults.

·        Pick your child up at their classroom at 11:00am.
